EVENT SECURITY

At FBS Protection Group, we understand that every event presents unique safety, security, and operational challenges. Our Event Security Services are designed to provide professional, reliable, and adaptable support for events of all sizes throughout New England.

Whether supporting a concert, festival, sporting event, theater production, corporate function, community gathering, or large-scale public event, our team works closely with event organizers, venue management, and key stakeholders to develop a security plan tailored to the specific needs of the event.

Access Control

Protecting the right areas starts with controlling access.

Our personnel support entrances, exits, restricted areas, backstage spaces, production zones, VIP areas, loading docks, and other controlled locations.

Services may include credential verification, staff and vendor access management, and restricted-area monitoring.

CROWD MANAGERS

Fatal incidents such as the 2011 Indiana State Fair stage collapse and the 2003 Station nightclub fire demonstrate the critical importance of trained crowd management personnel at public assemblies and live events. Crowd managers play an essential role in identifying hazards before an event begins, maintaining safe conditions during operations, and responding appropriately when an emergency develops.

Crowd management training is incorporated into nationally recognized fire and life-safety standards for many public assembly occupancies, including theaters, nightclubs, auditoriums, ballrooms, arenas, and similar venues.

Trained crowd managers are prepared to:

Conduct pre-event inspections of exits, aisles, egress routes, and other life-safety areas

Identify blocked or restricted emergency exits

Verify that required fire and life-safety systems are accessible and operational

Properly use portable fire extinguishers when appropriate

Direct and assist guests during an emergency

Recognize when protective strategies such as evacuation, partial evacuation, or sheltering/defend-in-place may be necessary

Monitor and respond to changing or deteriorating weather conditions

Identify potentially disruptive or unsafe guest behavior

Assist with orderly crowd movement during high-volume periods

Coordinate effectively with venue leadership, security personnel, fire departments, law enforcement, EMS, and other emergency responders

Effective crowd management begins before guests enter the venue and continues through the completion of the event.

SHOW STOP MANAGEMENT

A Show Stop Manager is the designated individual responsible for coordinating and implementing an established Showstop® Procedure when conditions arise that may require a live performance or event to be paused, stopped, evacuated, or otherwise modified for safety.

Depending on the event or venue, this responsibility may be assigned to an Event Manager, Safety Manager, Security Manager, Venue Manager, Front of House Manager, or another designated member of the event leadership team.

The critical element is that the designated individual has clearly defined authority, understands the established procedure, and is prepared to coordinate an organized response when a serious safety concern develops.

Key Responsibilities:

The Show Stop Manager serves as a critical coordination point during high-risk situations, helping ensure that decisions are made through an established, competency-based, and defensible process rather than through improvised action during an emergency.

CROWD MANAGEMENT & GUEST MOVEMENT

Safe events depend on effective crowd movement, situational awareness, clear communication, and professional personnel positioned throughout the venue or event site.

FBS Protection Group personnel can assist with:

Ingress and egress management

Seating and aisle monitoring

High-traffic and congestion areas

Guest direction and wayfinding

Emergency movement

Coordination with venue management and public safety personnel

Queue and line management

Barricade and perimeter positions

Restricted and controlled-access zones

Crowd observation and situational awareness

Evacuation and partial evacuation support

Our approach combines safety, preparedness, and guest service. The goal is not simply to control crowds, but to help create an organized environment in which guests feel welcomed, informed, and secure.

Through trained personnel, clearly defined responsibilities, and coordinated emergency procedures, FBS Protection Group helps venues and event organizers strengthen their overall safety and crowd management operations.
